Default 41 mag help?

I loaded up some 41 mag using 10.0 hrs of unique powder with a Winchester large pistol primer and 210 gr truncated fmj bullets does that sound too hot?

All the reloading manuals are different.

Nope!Actually,I think you'll find it right nice. Not a real magnum load but with just enough bark to let you know your projectile is on its way.

I like 8.5 grains Unique for JSP/JHP. I think your load is near (not over) max for Unique and jacketed bullets.

You are easily approaching MAX with that load

10 grains of unique is going to get you 1200+/- FPS depending on barrel length

I use 7 or 8 grains of Unique with a 210 grain cast lead SCW in my Model 58.

If I want a more powerful load than that I go to 2400 powder.

I generally don't shoot jacketed handgun bullets, so I can't comment on that.

Alliant lists 9.7 grs of Unique as max using a 210 gr bullet so you are just slightly over the listed max . I would choose a different powder for more power . HS-6 / 2400 / Enforcer all will give you what you want at less pressure . Just my thoughts , Regards Paul

If that is the Hornady bullet, use their data! If you don't have their manual, call their customer service number, 1-800-338-3220. they have always helped me with the loading data questions, even strange ones!
