From what I’ve seen around here lately that’s a $100 bill.

Good Find!

That's about the time I started loading.

I'm hoping to stumble onto a few more small rifle/small rifle magnum.

Default Hate to say it ---

It seems to me the government is trying to make firearms illegal and this is one of the first steps as unbelievable as it seems. if ammo company's are experiencing the same problem then it probably is true.

That sounds like another unfounded conspiracy theory to me.

Primers and ammo are scarce because of panic driven fear and greedy buyers. Nothing else.

Not greedy buyers. Smart buyers who purchased large quantities in times of plenty with discounts.(which has been as recently as earlier this year). I have seen at three of these shortages and after the first one, I have never been caught short. Unless you are new to the game, you only have yourself to blame. You could see this one coming years ago.

hoping to get some primers tomorrow, Talked to the owner of a small reloading shop and he said something came in today right when I called he wasn't sure what but said he would get them received and have them ready for sale tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed, the only bad is I won't be able to get there until around 4pm.
Can't wait to see what they have and more important how MUCH$$$$$

I am getting low on small pistol primers. I shoot cowboy action and
use for both rifle and pistol. I try to keep 20K on stock. I opened
a 5k box this fall and did not reorder. Sooooo guess I will just have to
make these last until the shortage is over! No panic buying...this has
been my normal for the last 20 years.

Seems to me that we are going from shortage to shortage for the last 20 years.First,it was powder. Then primers. Then .22LR.Then primers, again. Then .22lr again.Geeeez!Makes me understand what people went through during foodstamps era in both WW.
May God forbids us going through gun shortage!

Yep, we always figured a penny a piece for reloading back when I started. From $9 to $11 per 1000.

Nailed it. I started loading .30-30 on a Lee Loader in the early '70s and have seen multiple instances of shortages and panic buying. It will pass. Remember: "Buy it cheap, stack it deep."; I've still got boxes of Blazer 9mm I bought at Academy when it was marketed as a loss leader at $3.86/box because I couldn't load 9mm for that little. When things are plentiful and the manufacturers are offering rebates on ammo, equipment and components it is time to buy. Now is not that time.

You seem to have answered my question as to whether Primer Mfgs were

making primers for reloaders too. Local range repaid me 10K SPP l had

lent them to keep them going.. Owner repaid me with ''UNIS GINEX'' SPP.

Unis is ISO9000 certified. Since the 90s with the AWP i have been thru

shortages... Y2K we made it. Next came 2008/2012 when zero was in

the White House... 2020 feels DIFFERENT and may be a real FAMINE.

l sure hope l am wrong

I was going through a metal file cabinet in my office and discovered four 1K cartons of primers ... 2K small pistol & 2K large pistol , I had bought them on sale about 2 years ago ... Why I stashed them in the metal file cabinet at my office and not at home I don't remember ... then I forgot about them .... What a Pleasant Surprise to find during the middle of another Primer Shortage !

The moral of this story is to go root around in all the unlikely places and see what goodies you have squirreled away and possibly forgot about ... you might find some primers !

I also found a Cabela's shopping bag with new containers of pistol powders .... AA No. 2 , Titegroup , Red Dot and Unique stashed in there too but I sort of remember putting those in there !

Well, if people didnt learn something about the clinton years about shortages, nobody to blame but yourselves. Each time these shortages happen, they seem to become worse, and longer each time. Prices will level off, but they`ll never come back to the levels we`ve enjoyed in the past years when things were good. People became complacent, and they ignored the reality. Some even dared to say it would never happen again. And yet here we are.

I`m all set for components, i didnt ignore what i saw coming years ago.

Just curious for an update....has anyone heard of any recent deliveries of SP primers to any supplier in the entire USA?

I have seen the video where ammo manufacturers report increased production of loaded ammo (ie $$$$)....but they don't touch on primer production/distribution.

If I knew some primers were escaping to reloaders..I could breath easier (of course with my mask on)

Primers have been in all my local stores lately. Bimart, Fisherman’s Marine and Sportsman’s Warehouse. SW had carts full of boxes of a 1000 in every primer type.

The way I see it, on a value vs space taken, I'd bank on primers, then powder, then bullets, in that order.

I did happen in to the small reloading shop near my partner's older brother's new place last week. He had a brick of CCI magnum large rifle primers. He sold me 1K at just under $56 out the door. I din't ask for more, nor did he offer. I will now be a customer for life. Going to load .30-'06 for my dad's Winchester 70.

And the Ellensburg, WA BiMart had no primers at all. Looks like they all went to your nearby store.

Don't see a problem. Cheers. Enjoy.

Here was my score for $35 earlier in the year before the insanity set in. That's 1500 hard cast bullets sitting to the right.
