Rock Chucker Press
What are used RC presses going for now days. Have a chance to buy one and don't know the value. My first one cost $56 back about 1978, new from Gander Mt.

in really nice condition esp the older light green ones 75-120 bucks. Any more and you might as well buy one of the new ones. They are only about 150 or so and do have the ability to change the handle from left to right or vice versa

I just finished using my RC stamped Rock Chucker to load .45 Colt, .38 spl and 300 aac. It’s not very fast but it makes good ammo.. Other than one set of Lee .32 HR, .45 Colt FCD and Franklin Arsenal tumbler, all my equipment is RCBS.
Not sure what they go for used, I have no idea what I paid for it or if I saved a penny rolling my own, but I do know the 1000s of hours I’ve spent making my own ammo is priceless. I’ve never contemplated anything newer or faster - might be different if I shot competitively and didn’t have a sponsor to provide ammo.
p.s. RCBS just sent me a new, replacement primer tray (because I broke the original), received it two days ago. RCBS’ CS is second to none.

Just an FYI. That last RCBS Rebate in 2020 was $50 OFF for the RockChucker that was a total of $171.00 delivered and including tax. A net of $121 for a brand new press!
Cheers!

Thanks for the replies. Based on the above information, I'm guessing not over $100 for the press. The picture I saw of it appears to be the same as the one I bought in the 70's, round handle, darker green.

Their CS is above and beyond. I have the Partner press and I called them to buy an extra primer arm to make it easier to change from small primers to large ones. They sent me one for free, didn't even pay postage.

Just a note. I have what looks like the same vintage Rock Chucker. I added the Piggy Back II to it and still love it after all this time.

As long as the ram is still good and tight/smooth, and with how hard it is to find reloading stuff right now, i wouldn`t hesitate to pay $100 for it.

If the RC has all the accessories like the primer arm, primer catcher, S and L primer cups and some tubes it should be worth up to $100. Any more stuff would be a bonus.

I have been looking on Ebay and the press prices are high and the shipping is unreal. I don't need any thing but I like to look. Jeff

Well, I picked it up the other day. It is a Rocker Chucker IV. Good shape, for $65.

Rock Chucker's are great for very small batches of ammo, experimental loads, very large caliber rifle cartridges and when you are new to the game.
I have one and use it for calibers seldom shot where I am not loading more than 100 or so cartridges that are large and need lubrication. Sometimes I'll use it to experiment with new .357 loads, or only a handful of ammo until I decide on a powder charge. If I have Dies that are not Carbide the RC works great with One Shot.
Other than that - my Dillon is my Go-to. My RC is 20-25 years old and I have no idea what they cost now or what they are worth.
