I was in one of the local shops yesterday and noticed they had a few bottles of Accurate N100NF and Enforcer. I’ve never used Accurate powders but was curious so I picked up 2 bottles of N100NF and one of Enforcer.

The new N100 is faster burning than Bullseye which I’ve used for years and Emforcer is approaching H110 in speed.

I’m going to explore loads for mild 45 acp with 200gr SWC polymer coated, 38 special with 158 polymer SWC and 9mm with polymer 124/125gr.

I have their recommendations and loaded a sample of 38 and 45’s last night.

I rarely load magnums and was getting low on H110 and have no magnum primers now. I’ve read Enforcer is ok with Winchester standard primers.

I’m looking for any experiences and comments.

I forgot to mention the magnums I’ll load are more self defense and with a 158 JHP and not looking for maximum velocity.

I used Nitro 100 for years in 410 shot shells for sporting clays! It is very fast and burns very hot, so any load will heat up your gun faster and a little warmer than a WW296/H100 load. I have the printed Accurate Loading Manual Volume One (from 1995) it doesn't have any Enforcer data. but if you need a couple loads for Nitro 100 PM me.

The 100 in the name comes from the fact that the powder contains 10.0% nitroglycerin. That is why it burns hot!

It appears N100 was reformulated a few years ago. Not sure when but the newer powder I have has NF after the N100 designating it’s the newer recipe. Accurate says to only use current load data with the new formula.

They "reformulated" 5744 several times and say the same thing. But I've tested 3 generations of it side by side and equal loading in the same gun yielded the same performance.

As ownership and distributorship has changed, the newest company does not want to assume any liabilities from their predecessors !

Enforcer is a great magnum pistol powder. Faster than H110/296, slower than AA9 & 2400. Works best with mag primers. I use it in 44mag.

Interesting, these must no be very popular. Well today I took 10 45acp a a and 12 38 special loads to the range and chronographed them.

First I shots 6 rounds through the chrono from my 4” 625-2. I used 200 polymer coated 200 grain swc’s. I used mixed brass and weighed each charge. The load was 3.9 grains N100NF under the 200 grain SWC. Average velocity was 828.8fps. Recoil was mild and the powder was very clean. I’ve used 231 in 45 for years and and found it to be really dirty in light loads. The N100NF produced almost no soot on the cases.

Next was 38 special in mixed brass using a polymer coated 158 grain SW’s over 2.4 grains of N100NF. My average velocity of 6 rounds shot through my 4” 28-2 came out to be 655.1 FPS. This is pretty low velocity so I’ll bump up the load a little. Agaa *** in the cases were very clean with almost no soot and recoil was extremely mild.

In both cases primers showed no signs of over pressure. They actually were still rounded at the edges so pressure was very low.

Next I’ll load a series with increasing loads ow powder and test for accuracy.

I've been using the N100NF for 12 gauge loading for a few years, and it is consistent and clean burning. Never used in pistol loading, vut would think would be fine in smaller calibers, up to 45 ACP. I would not use in magnum loads, too fast a burning ratio.

I also used the Nitro 100 in 12 Ga, trap loads.

It was very clean burning, nice patterns but back then the can was not a pound of powder and it was pretty high in cost, so I finally let it go.

Sorry, never tried it in handgun loads.

A bottle of N100NF is 12 ounces not a pound which makes it seem pretty expensive but when you’re using 2.4 grains for a load you can get a lot of ammo out of a bottle. Anyway just try to find bullseye right now or any other powder for that matter. Other powders seem more attractive now plus I enjoy exploring new powders. That’s how I found CFE pistol for 38 super loads with low flash and moderate magnum loads with minimal flash.

I’m pretty good on powder and primers thankfully but was down to my last pound of bullseye and thought this might be a good replacement. So far I’m liking it. Bullseye is a little dirty but 231/HP38 is nasty stuff. I’ve probably loaded 25 pounds of 231 in the past few years and it’s a great all around pistol powder but In this age of panic shortages I’m looking at alternatives.

I’m anxious to try the Enforcer I picked up. I don’t shoot a lot of magnum loads but I’m down to a half pound of H110 and no magnum primers. One thing I’ve read about Enforcer is magnum primers aren’t necessary. When I free up some 357 brass I’m going to load a few mild magnums with Winchester standard primers and see how they work. I’ve got plenty of standard large and small pistol primers so I’m good to go if this works.

I've been using Accurate powders since the early 90s and find their products to be quality stuff. I've not used the 2 powders you bought but have loaded many pounds of Accurate #2 and #9 and found both to burn very clean and don't need magnum primers to light off. The biggest problem around where I live with them is finding them locally; nobody stocks Accurate or Ramshot powder locally.

Ramshot Enforcer is the same powder as Accurate 4100. It's an excellent magnum pistol powder and the finest grain powder I've ever dealt with and virtually flashless. It's one notch slower burning than Accurate #9.

I bought some Enforcer not long ago, gets great reviews for higher end revolver loads. I have not opened it yet.

When a powder co. updates / refurbishes a powder they still have to keep it in the parameters / burn rate it was originally certified . If it goes too far outside the lot to lot allowance , then they have to change the name and have it recertified all over again . They (the powder co's ) are very tightly regulated , believe it or not ! I got this info straight from an exec @ Alliant a few years ago . Regards Paul

Ramshot Enforcer / Accurate 4100 ( both the same ) is an excellent powder for upper end magnum loads . I have used it quite a bit over the years and have always found it to be a very accurate powder . It meters like water as it is so fine grain that I just use scoops . Regards Paul
