Electric Powder Dispenser

Is there a company that offers a electrical powder dispenser that does not have a build in memory ? Would like a simple one that all you do is enter the powder charge and it despends the powder.

If it has no memory, you'd have to punch in the weight every time !

Mine is a 12 year old (or older) RCBS. After warm up and calibration, you type in the charge and hit start and away it goes. To repeat just hit start again. bout 10-20% of the time it would go over weight and give an "error" warning. Using ball powder instead of extruded cut that to less than 5%. With extruded powder (Varget or IMR 3031) I found my RCBS 5-0-5 beam scale is faster overall!

Why would you want that?

The rcbs charge master lite has a manual mode where you hit start every time, only time I use manual is when I’m at the last charge. It’s not complicated at all and I’m the technology equivalent of a caveman.

I have the RCBS charge master and my experience is the same as above. With mine, the machine beeps when the weight hits the target load. Unfortunately it sometimes goes over, so once the machine beeps you have to wait a few seconds to see if the weight continues to go up, which it not infrequently does. However, it retains the charge load until you change it. For the next load, all you have to do is replace the pan, and as soon as the weight hits zero, the next charge starts dispensing. I find it much faster to just dump a load by hand from the Redding powder dispenser and weigh it, as opposed to waiting for the RCBS powder machine to slowly come up to weight and stop.

My RCBS Charge Master 1500 went crazy and I sent it back to the factory.
I went to my Lyman 505 weight scale and the beam stays in the downward position with all three indexes set at "0" ?

Every now and then a 505 needs some love and a BATH !!
Mine fills up with dust and stuff drifting through the house.
If you stand near a window with sun light coming through it, you can see the super fine particals that drift by in most of our homes.

The electic is nice to have for accuracy,
the 505 is a little faser but for numbers,
I can fill a lot more cases with my "Tube" drop and it gets even faster with rifle cases that take a lot of powder.

Jimmy, this is maybe what you are looking for. An “old school” electric powder measure. For a long time I had an AMT one then I found this Lyman one on ebay a few years ago. Works good for rifle powders but not so much on small grains of pistol. Don’t think they are made anymore but show up on eBay every now and then. It is simply a beam scale that quits dumping powder when the level is reached.

Did you try using the leveling foot to bring the pointer up to "0" ?

Sounds like the pan side is too light. Are you missing part of the pan assembly, or using the wrong pan? In any case, add some weight to the pan until you get the pointer close enough to "0" to go the rest of the way using the levelling foot.

I use a beam scale for accuracy, an electronic for convenience.

Too many outside variables for me to fully trust any affordable electronic scale. A good friend has what I believe to be a 3rd generation Lyman dispenser/scale that he uses. I'd likely had shot the thing before it gets a charge out.
