There are good people around
Got tired of waiting for the net to get primers so I took a drive to a sporting good store with a Gift card that I received last X-mas.
Walked up to the counter and asked if the were any small pistol primers.
"Why, yes........ we just got a shopment in".
The salesman came back and told me I was twenty minutes late.
All the primers were sold.
I told him thanks any way, I have been trying since October to find a few to finish out my test on a new bullet for the S&W site, for the 38 snub nose.
One of the gentlemen behind the counter, over heard me and said that he looks at the site and that he saved 200 primers for his testing and that he would give me 100 of his so I could finish the long over due test.
Thanks to Dave, I will finish this test when the snow melts and the dirt, back roads are good enough to get back on.
Here in Nevada, you don't mess around with wet Alkali roads unless you want to have to call a tow truck to get you back on the road again.
Come on Spring !!

Are you talking about the Federal 130 grain "micro" bullet Ed?
Will you be loading it with BE-86?

Give that man a Kewpie Doll !!
Yes sir I will be doing my final test #29, 30, 31 & 32 with a
OAL of 1.18" with a very light crimp on the end of the case
with Green Dot, BE-86, Blue Dot and 2400 powders.
These "Should" be very close to factory Dup. velositys and also
be the cream of the crop, that I have tested for POA and accuracy.
My last test was in 11/16/2020............
It will be nice to get the answer on what loads will get er done.
Later.

Ed,
If you lived a little closer than 2,150 miles from me, I’d gladly stop by and donate a few hundred primers for your 130gr HST project. I’d mail a pack to you but USPS has some silly rules forbidding that. Sorry.
I’ve posted before my results using BE-86. Try 4.8 grains of BE-86 with an OAL of 1.18”. That gave me 840fps from my S&W M640. That is consistent with results posted on line with Federal factory ammunition.
Please post your results as soon as the weather breaks and you’re able to get to the range.

Good to hear, I think that most people in the world are good people but it's the others that get the attention.

Hang in there gang.
I needed new plate tags for the auto but the Nevada Dept. of Motor Vehicles is so messed up that it took me four (4) weeks to finally get to talk to them, then another two weeks before I could see them I/P.
They will not answer their 5 phone lines and with my windows 7 not being able to receive e-mail, my hands were tied, since you needed an appointment to see them. HELLOW !!
Now that I finally got the new sticker, I can "Legally Drive" on the roads in Nevada again, and not worry about a ticket.
Soon.

Add a P.S.
Per a letter from the ("1st bi-sexual! to assume the office of..." ) governor of the (sad, sad..) state of o-ry-gone the registration and license plate stickers for the 2021-2022 years I mailed in November won't be available for, Oh, six months "or so" because...
The dmv ran out of stickers.
If you have to go through the deq test (4 counties, or it used to be?) for an extra $25, BTW, they will validate your registration and give you new stickers: they get theirs from a different supplier...
Your guv-ment efficiently at work during the dem-panic?
P.S. Her letters included temp plates (wonder what THAT co$t$?) *plus a statement that law enforcement will be able to confirm your registration and that you "shouldn't" be ticketed for failure to display the required stickers that have not yet been sent...
P.P.S. If they can confirm your registration on their computers, why do you need a sticker to begin with?

I can't imagine being out of primers. Getting older and wiser has its advantages.

Unfortunately there is only one alternative to "getting older"...
Cheers!

[QUOTE=Bastogne71;141121048]Ed,

Do you think this load is safe for a .38 special +P rated J frame ? It's a 640-2.

With luck;
I should be able to go out and test my loads and give all the data to everyone, tomarrow, with my J frame, snub nose.
Had lots of "Spring" honey do's the last couple of days, with the nice weather that finally showed up, to keep the little lady happy.
