Default Wolf primers

I've got a person who wants to trade me Wolf LPP for my W231. I don't have any experience with Wolf primers and was looking for how they compare with CCI.

Lots of us competitive Service Rifle shooters use Wolf primers. I actually now use the Wolf pre-primed brass, shoot once, and then sell it as once-fired brass. My days of sizing, tumbling, trimming, and priming brass for a Service Rifle are over! I figured out how unimportant ammo was in this game about the time I reached Master level.

Last panic/shortage I bought some large pistol and some large rifle Wolf primers. I have used about half a brick of each and each one fired. Didn't see any variations, "weak" or squibs, in my 44 Magnums and 30-06 Garand...

I use a lot Wolf Small Rifle & Large Pistol primers. I bought a pile of them several years ago from PV.

Almost all my .45 Colt & ACP use them. I would love to find some more today.

I used wolf LPP from a pre-Obama stock up, and haven't since my pre-2016 stock up of CCI. But I had no problem with wolf primers

I acquired a quanity of Wolf small rifle primers several years ago. I have loaded thousands of rounds with them. They work fine. With this recent shortage of reloading components, I am glad that I had them. IMO they are on par with CCI or any other primer that I have loaded with.

Ditto, good stuff but haven't seen them in years. I shot several K though, no complaints

great primers, I wish they were still imported to the USA, very accurate in precision rifle loads due to a different compound that the USA makers. I still have a few Large Rifle and use then only for accuracy loads.

I watched people wheeling Wolf primers out of the Tulsa gun show on 2 wheeled dollies. That was several years ago though. I took 2 arm loads to my truck and they've all worked like they are supposed to.

I'm going to be loading some 44 mag hunting loads, using H110 with Hornady 240gr XTP JHP bullets. A good friend, who's been loading 44 mag for 58 years, recommend I use large pistol magnum primers for that load. I know the Hodgdon reloading data shows them using regular Remington 2 1/2 primers for this combination, but I will defer to my buddies years of experience. The Wolf primers in my OP were standard primers. As usual, I did learn a lot from everyone's responses. Thank you.
