There are a couple of specialty brass makers that offer the cases, such as RCC. They are expensive, however.
Otherwise, it's either stumble across some or make your own.

256 brass
I have tried a couple of the specialty manufacturers and they all show "out of stock". I'm almost ready to order the 5 die set from Redding but the cost will be almost $400.00. The up side, I'll never be looking for brass again!

Can you find, or do you have, 357 Magnum brass?
You can make rimless 256 from 223 cases.
When I first made some rimless, I simply removed the decapping spindle from the sizing die and ran the 223 case in. Then trimmed to length. I did not have the ream, but that may change depending on the cases used.
A bit hard to extract from a Contender unless you change the extractor, but shootable.
What are you using for bullets?

brass
I have plenty of 357 mag brass and have done many caliber changes by annealing but the dies are my hang up($400)! It will make people do a double take when you show them a .243 with a .30-06 headstamp! I have heard of using the 223 brass but the process still requires the forming dies plus changing the extractor on the Contender barrel. I have found a stash of 60gr Flat Point, 75gr Spitzer, & 100gr Spitzer to start with! Maybe I better go lay down until this idea goes away(it will be cheaper)!

The first rimless 256 cases I made used only the sizer die and a trim die.
They will fire in a Contender without an extractor change, but a small screwdriver or such is needed to get the case out.
I had gotten a 223 extractor to put in, but it somehow disappeared.
