Default shelves filling up with powder

Local large gun shop near here had plenty of useful powders
I got my 3031 which Midway or one of them posted 3-5 months.
Primers are still a NO. Bullets are always available.
My local reloading store is getting powder but not what I need.
Alliant is still slow in returning, only shotgun powders are there.
I see a peek of sunshine in this gloom.

Good news! How's the pricing? I'm not needing any of either right now, just curious about the "new prices". I'm in pretty good shape for now, but will purchase more when the availability/prices settle down. Still nothing much here though.

There are two LGS here that I have been known to buy powder from. One is selling for about $50 per #. One is selling for about $30 per #. They both have decent though variable levels of stocking over the last 3-4 months.

Default Powder

Youngest son was in a local gun emporium last night and sent me a photo of powders they have on the shelf.
2400, Green Dot, Power Pistol, Tite Group, Bullseye, CFE pistol, CFE 223, Win 748, 231, HP 38, Varget, H335, H4350, HS-6.
I do not know what they all were priced at, a couple he looked at for me were $44. - $50. A lb.
This is the widest variety I have seen on a shelf for quite a while, it is good to see these available again.

I remember the last powder "shortage", Alliant powders were the last to come back in stock. Once powders were plentiful and prices were back to "normal", I stocked up and am glad I did! Powder is the one component that I'll never need to buy again-at any price

Waiting to see where primers settle down to as the new "normal", but till then, I'm not buying. I've seen plated/jacketed bullet prices coming down, but again, not buying till they come down closer to "my" buying price.

Lesson learned from previous experience, don't get caught short on supplies or ammo!

I remember back in the old days, the West coast and Bay area had a water shortage, big time.
We all pulled together , to get through these hard times,

These times with no loading supplies or high prices is just another test for us.
I have just have three words for all of us to remember................

"Let it Mellow ".

I agree with the “not buying crowd”. I know wholesale prices have not gone up near as much as shelf prices for components and ammo and therefore will not buy until my comfortable prices have been reached.

The powder is $39.95 a few dollars over IMR list price but I didn't have to pay shipping or HazMat charge.
Same store wanted $8.00 for a box of 50 22lr NO WAY

i've all but given up on finding powder locally.

The guy's behind the counter at Sportsmans Warehouse get first crack it and they don't have to wait in line.

BassPro is a waste of time in Co Springs.

Sheels hasn't had any powder (that I use) since they opened a few months ago.

The mom/pop shops are trying to make retirement income off poweder and primers when they have a little.

Good lord I'm bitter.

i'll stick with online for now, it's actually been cheaper.

Here,up north(Montreal,Qc,Ca)powder was not a problem. But .22s are still almost 50% over what they used to go for only 2 years ago and primers are 100%more than they were in 2019!
Worse, some dealers limit your purchase of primers to 100 or 200.I normally buy them by 5 or 10Ks.
Pretty frustrating!
