As with any and all reloading supplies, we're all looking for the same things. Occasionally someone here will find them online, but the prices are almost always greatly inflatted.

Personally I've given up on MidwayUSA, they are charging $75 and up for a brick of primers when they have some.

PowderValleyinc has not had any for the last 18 months or so, at least not when I've checked during the week....and I checked a lot.

Natchez, primers don't come up on their website.

Today I was able to score 2k of Remmington 1 1/2 SPP from a member of the range I joined earlier this year. $60 per 1k, I bought what I could afford.

Seems buying local is about the only way to get them at a somewhat fair price.

"Reasonable" price? What's reasonable to someone who is greedy?

I always have to wonder if these people buying at these grossly inflated prices realize that they're driving prices beyond the means of many, many shooters. I also wonder if that is not their goal.

Anyway, no, I'm sorry, I'm not aware of any retailer who is not gouging us every chance they see to do so, not on primers anyway. I will give Hodgdon a little credit in the powder department though. Prices have gone up a little but not too terrible.

Good luck with that Jimmyj...........

Here in Nevada I am looking through the "High Sage" looking to cacth a Unicorn.

If I ever get a loop on one, I figured that I might get enough in trade, to buy a few primers.

Good searching to all.

The Outpost in Pahrump had a few sleeves of Winchester SPP and $17 per 100. Still silly high.

If you get down there occasionally, Zeeman's in Lake Havesu, AZ has primers for $10/100. Pretty awful but better than $17!

Not complaining, but Federal boxes are Huge! Wonder how much the boxes cost? Only primers I’ve seen were at Bass Pro over a month ago.

The past two times I visited our local reload dealer, I was able to get a sleeve of 100 of either small pistol or small rifle primers @ $5/100. He will only sell 1 sleeve per customer per visit and he would like you to spend at least $10. If you are a regular, and he is out of what your are looking for he will sell you the primers anyway. GOOD BUSINESS MAN
None of his customers are walk-ins, we are all regulars

Sounds like he's holding the primers for ransom. You can only get $5 worth but you have to spend at least $10?

Not a place I'd shop at.

You can't use "available" and "reasonable" in the same sentence with regards to Primers! They are STILL the Achilles Heel in the Reloading game.

YOU DO THE MATH:
While I am certainly not encouraging anyone to get totally ripped off, it still pays to buy Primers at somewhat inflated prices. See my math example below. This is for 45acp with a 230 hard cast grain Lead Ball bullet - polymer coated, 4.5 grains of W231 powder and large Pistol Primers at let's say $100/1000 (10 cents ea.).

Brass Case - free
Primer - 10 cents
Powder - a penny and a half
Hard Cast Polymer Coated 230 grain Bullet - 10 cents

That adds up to .22 cents a round or $11 per box of 50 rounds. STILL way way under what you can buy Factory ammo for! So while we WERE paying $28 bucks for a 1,000 Primers only a few years ago, I don't think we'll see that again anytime soon! While I too HATE getting reamed, .22 cents a round for .45acp is considered reasonable by today's standards!
