Default button nose wad cutters

Hi again
Just purchased .38 cal 148gr button nose wadcutters.
I would like to know if I should seat flush to case mouth or leave the button exposed and light crimp. Using Bullseye and/or Titegroup.
Thanks

Do the bullets have a crimping groove? If not, the button should remain above the lip of the case and the crimp should be applied to the full diameter of the bullet, probably at the edge of the face of the bullet so as to provide a grip on the projectile.

Post a photo of the bullet if you can.

You just need to look on how the bullet is designed and made.

This BN has two groves above the lube, that can be used for the OAL of this bullet.
A different OAL can shoot better in fps or accuracy in some weapons.

I crimp into the top groove. 2.8g of Bullseye works great with this bullet.

It won't matter. Bullseye should shoot the better group with the powder you have. Just keep them under 950fps. I shoot them with the button sticking out in my autos and in the crimp with a wheel gun. You can turn them around also. To me it's the most accurate cheapest bullet you can shoot. Most button nose look like this.

What are you shooting them in? Revolver or auto?

Default button nose wad cutters

3gr for 357 for 148gr HBWC. I think it’s 2.7 for 38spc

Yes bullet has crimp grooves. I'll seat the bullet to the top groove and leave the button exposed.

It's bnwc -not hbwc. Here is one of each-38-357. You can run button nose pretty fast if desired. I don't but Lymam said you can. 357 on the left-38 special on the right.
