New Hodgdons load data?
Perhaps it is just news to me, but I have just 1st noticed that Hodgdons is listing load data for 9mm & 45 acp in +P.
This includes the numbered Accurate powders as well.
Cheers!
P.S. I have also never seen this mentioned on this Forum, and I follow the new threads pretty closely... I thought I did, anyway?

I just looked and did notice that the 115 Gold Dot did have some healty fps and data but...........
A lot of those powders were still on the light side, from my full load data for
+P loads in my 3.5" and 5" pistol test.
The data for the 124 &125 bullets in the 9mm were well below my test
in the amount of powder used.
I consider this data very safe for all pistols, but still work up your loads.

Hodgdon acquired Accurate and Ramshot in the last year or so. They used to give +P loads in their data. It looks like all the data for 9mm+P and 45 ACP +P are for Accurate and Ramshot powders.

“Hogdon’s” new data is almost certainly just data copied from the powder manufacturer and will probably not include the higher pressure loads.

Well, the new(ly published?)data for 9mm & 45 acp is clearly listed as being at +P levels...
My real question was if this was load data that was NEW (as in just recently added) to the Hodgdons site?
I just don't recall ever seeing it before.
Cheers!

I just brought up their site and yes Acccurate and Ramshot are there. This helps when using either Accurate or Ramshot from searching the web for a load chart.
.38 Spercial +P is listed but not 9mm +P

9mm +P and 45acp +P are indeed there: right at the beginning of their list under Pistol, Select a Cartridge... Along with 500 Maximum, 22TC & 5.7x28 FN.

I will give the Speer 147 TMJ at a OAL of 1.13" at 1006fps a thumbs up.
The Nos 115 JHP OAL at 1.077" maxed out at 1217fps is just under the wire for a 4" +P loading.
The 125 SIE JHP at a very short OAL of 1.035"doing just 1126fps, is a very boaring load.
Maybe at a OAL of 1.12" with a lot more powder would get it into the high +P zone ?
Idon't understand why this sight has to have very short OAL with the JHP bullets?
My pistols do a lot better at 1.12" with a JHP than the short 1.09" with a 115 or 125 gr "Ball" or the JHP bullets, that I shoot.
However, it is nice to see NEW powders on the list, for us to study.

Based on my limited experience, the ojive on an TMJ or FMJ is farther aft than that of a hollow point. When I loaded my RMR Multi-Purpose Rounds (124gn JHP) they were far to long at the COL I used for FMJ bullets. I had to shorten the round by .010" before I achieved an acceptable plunk test.
