I'm loading some 38s using lazer cast bullets.Lazer casts manual lists OAL as 1.550 but to get to the crimp grove would require OAL of about 1.530. So should I go with the groove or propper OAL?

Are these being loaded in 357 cases? If they are 38 cases, that could affect OAL. If these are low to mid range loads you should be ok as long as you are shooting a modern weapon. Pressure is what you have to worry about.
