hey guys, few weeks ago, helped a friend to install his new Dillon 650 (was new for him) and he started to throw away old stuff, and this pop up

at end of the day, he say ... u like old revolvers and stuff, take it ...

now need to get a 32-20 revolver

I was never a 45 guy until I happened on a great deal for a set of dies. I bought them for trade fodder. I still have the dies and multiple 45ACP firearms.

Don't forget to buy a Lyman All American turret press so you can use that J type shell holder. I used to have a Winchester high wall in 32-20, boy was it a blast to shoot! Now I have a M&P, a SAA copy and a Ruger Blackhawk in 32-20... i really need to load some Ideal 3118 bullets in fresh Starline brass and hit the range!

Those dies fit the Tru-Line press, and the Lyman 310 tool, and a old press made in Australia (the name escapes me). You still will need a way to prime the cases. Small Pistol and Small Rifle primers both work, but will have different velocities! (Remington 6 1/2 is the perfect primer for this round!)

I love my 4" 1902 M&P made in 1902, and my 1919 made 6" Colt Police Positive Special. I only load cast bullets from my Lyman Mold (it's the gas check version of 3118)

I also have a modern Marlin 1894 CL. I load these to high velocity and use jacketed bullets (Bullets for 32 H&R mag work great!)

Years ago I bought 500 Remington cases from Midway and have 200 Starline and sever hundred mixed from purchased ammo. I never found enough volume difference to segregate by brand.

My cast bullet loads are with Trail Boss, Unique, & WW231. My jacketed rifle loads are with a long discontinued smokeless powder.

have tried those dies, and are 7/8x14, so my rcbs is ready, just need to find if have the right shell holder, remember that have a lee SH kit, don't have brass yet, but first need the piece

will look for a good old m&p

I have two older S&Ws. The oldest is adjustable sighted made before 1910 the other, fixed sight, made approx 1925 or 26. Surprisingly the fixed sight gun is more accurate for me. The other 32-20 is a Ruger 32 H&R 32-20 combo. The 32-20 cyl I have never fired

Lee shell holder is #6. (I think that is the one missing from the factory) My RCBS die box says RCBS #1.

Sorry I misspoke about which press the dies fit. I have a set of 310's and ran with an earlier post! When I started loading 1979, 3 die sets of All American Dies came in a black cardboard box. The colorful boxes threw me!

In today's supply chain, you can find the gun easier than the brass! Forget necking up 25-20 WCF. It can be done in theory, but case loss is high and unacceptable.

Those early All American boxes were kinda garish, weren't they? The boxes for the TruLine Jr and 310 tool were all orange cardboard until the very latest ones in the orange plastic boxes.

The ebb and flo of demand for the 32-20 is such that brass production is very spotty. I think the most dependable source of loaded ammo (and perhaps brass as well) would be the Cowboy Action Shooters' group. Those guys are big on using the 32-20. I was fortunate enough to buy a bag of brass the last time Starline had it in stock... they should make some more before too long.

Congratulations on the dies, they are classics.

Sounds similar to what I did about 10-12 years ago. I was at an auction and bought a set of 45-70 dies just in case I got one in the future. Well of course I did buy 1 and then another. I bought a Springfield Trapdoor and then a Marlin Levergun in 45-70.

I hope you find a nice gun in 32-20, you will LOVE. (I don't own one but my shooting buddy does and it's great!) Cimarron makes a Model P which is a Colt SAA clone in .32-20 and it's a good gun.

Just got back from my favorite lgs and they had left a message on my phone to come and get your GB prize, a 32-20 S&W so marked. She is a beauty for a shooter class Smith, circa 1915. That makes 5 S&W and 3 Winchesters in this caliber. Winchesters are a 92 carbine, a 92 long gun and an 1873 long rifle. I reload for them all. Brass is where you can find it, I have a fair amount in my ammo stash. As said above they are like chips and cheese spread you can not stop with just one. Old dies are just as good as new ones, I can not pass up a flea market or yard sale when I see them. Best of luck in your hunt for that 32-20. People often sell them at a reasonable price because they can't find ammo.
