I have 500 Zero, 200gr, .401’ dia, TCBB, coated pb, bullets. Actual weight runs 204-205gr.
I need a load for powder I have on the shelf, candidates are Power Pistol, AA 5, 7, or 9, VV 350 or 3N37.
I like to keep my 10mm shooting serious and am not looking for a mild target load, nor would I want to push the limit in what is likely to be a one time thing. Pistols; 1006, 1076, Kimber 1911.
200gr lead loads seem a bit scarce, this is what I have found so far:
AA9 10.9gr/1000fps........10.6/1018 min 11.8/1157.......12.0/1157 max
AA7 8.4/960...........9.0/992 min 9.3/1091 10.0/1102 max
AA5 6.3/935...........7.7/1024 min 8.5/1138.......7.0/1063 max.

Anyone have any exper. with 200gr lead?

oldRoger,
My only experience with the 200 grain loading in the 10mm has been with jacketed bullets,I've always used AA #9 consisting of a 14 grain charge depending on which platform I shoot it from.I normally load fullhouse 180s with Bluedot and AA#7.I will ask around with some of my loading partners and see if they have any 200 grain lead loads.

I can't find it now but there was an article in Handloader that was comprehensive. perhaps you can search the article on their website . If I find it I will get back to you.

Brian Pearce's article from the June 2008 Handloader did not list any 200gr cast bullet loads.

Accurate Loading Guide Number One (1994) lists 195 LFN and 205 LFN loads.

This is with AA#9 and 205gr LFN: Start 10.6gr, 1018fps; Max 11.8gr, 1157fps @36.2Kpsi.

For AA#7 w/205gr LFN: Start 8.4gr, 960fps, Max 9.3gr, 1091fps @ 35.9Kpsi.

I also have the 1991 American Handgunner Annual 10mm Special Issue. For the 1006, this load was tested and 1 5/8" accuracy was reported --- bullet:RCBS#10MM - 200gr, 10.5gr AA#7, 1156fps. That's from the day when 10MM loadings were *real* 10MMs !!

Hope this helps. I've only shot jacketed 200gr bullets, but lots of 180 cast.

Thanks to all, I think I will load a few at 10grs of AA7, If I notice no pressure signs I will load the remainder the same.
I found a Ken Waters load in his Pet Loads Supplement for a 202gr Saeco Bullet, 11.0 gr 2400 at 953. He says near max. I have some old clippings from the early 90’s but most of the loads are for powders I don’t normally stock. Since the common PB bullet is +/-180gr in deference to our 40S&W friends, I suppose I will never see anyone work up 200gr lead loads again.

I had a M610 for a short time that I worked up some 200gr LTC 10mm loads for. I just can't find the data right now!

At any rate, you have some great powders and data already. I would use it and work up a load of my own. I like AA#9. If it were me, I'd go with it.

Any of the Accurate Arms powders will deliver as advertised, at least in my experience, anyway.

If'n you have any IMR 800x around your reloading shop, that is THE powder for 10mm.

There is a TON of load data for 10mm over at GlockTalk.com, in it's own forum - "10mm Reloading Forum"
