Anyone have suggested loads for the .22 Jet out of a carbine or rifle?
Thanks,

22 Jet
or 5.7 Spitfire?
(EDIT) And while it's not outside the realm that someone had built one once, I've sure never seen one? At least I don't "think" I have?

I'd use the same data. It's a small case, capacity-wise, without much room for bigger charges of slower powder. Jets are loaded fairly warm anyway, and the extra barrel length will give you a bit more poop than a revolver will give you.
I've never seen a carbine Jet, either. Whatcha thinking about?

Sorry, guys. Not a converted M1 Carbine. I bought a very lightly used barrel, stock and forend assembly that converts a T/C action into a neat little .22 Jet rifle. The barrel is carbine length. I mounted a 4X Leupold compact scope and all is well in the world - it's a handy little package.
Shot it with factory ammo out to 200 yards and it did well enough to suit me, although I think 200 is going to be the high-end for range.
Someplace I've got some lightweight ballistic-tip bullets in .223 I'm thinking of working up a load with. I'm going to try a little light-duty verminatin' down on the farm, with crows number 1 on the list.

I have my doubts it's a .223" barrel. They are probably using a standard .224" bore and just cutting their chambers in those. Slugging the bore would tell for sure and may help deliver better accuracy.

Cool! I have a T/C Contender barrel in .22 Jet, a very old, 10 inch octagon barrel with a 3X T/C scope.
Who made your longer barrel? I would like to get one, 16-18 inches, either Jet or .22 Hornet.

Buff - Don't know who made the barrel as I have not checked the gun for markings. I will and will let you know. I heard today that T/C has a custom shop and that they may have made it.

Buff - The barrel is 18 inches in length and light-medium varmint weight. There are no markings unless they are under the scope base. The stock and forend are nicely made and the overall quality is excellent. Should be a hoot to shoot.
