Loaded up some 148Gr wadccutters for my new S&W "J" frame 360 38special chiefs special airweight. I used 2,5 Grs of Hodgdon clays. man that little revolver shot like a target pistol! Shot at 15 yards or so and it grouped great some touching it hits where you point the guys at the S&W did a great job on this little revolver.

When I can put up the the poor metering of Clays I charge the same exact 2.5gr under a 148gr Wadcutter. When I'm more impatient I charge 3.4gr W231 for close to the same results...

I use 3.1 of 231 in my K-38s.

Great results from your Clays, I will have to give that a try. My Dillon measure works well with clays.

2.5gr of Clays is what I use in my model 52-1.

You need to concentrate more...you lost two Xs! That is some great shooting! What did you shoot that group with?

I shot that target with my Clark .38 special Heavy Slide (1911 conversion).

I was having a very good day, normally I can't shoot anywhere near that well. This was one of those days where I put up a fresh target, fired 5, looked through my spotting scope and said to myself "No more shooting at that one!" When I get a good target like that, I like to save them.

Erich: no coffee before I shoot!

johngalt;
You're correct - it is VERY important to know when to quit

Excellent shooting!

To carry it a step further, I know a guy that eats no chocolate and doesn't drink coffee period just so his groups are as small as they can be.

Now, that's a serious shooter!

I have been drinking coffee for so long, I can drink a pot and go right to bed and sleep like a baby! I wonder how well I could shoot if I stopped drinking it all together!

And yes, GREAT shooting!

Skip,
You and I both would probably get the shakes if we stopped drinking coffee and shoot worse. LOL
