Hornady makes them, as does Speer. Available direct from the company but you will likely find them cheaper at any number of shooting accessory websites.

As to powders, I have not loaded lead hollowpoints as I carry factory ones in my 642. Nyclads, currently. However, with 158 grain semiwadcutters, I have had good luck with Unique* and 2400 (in the higher load range), SR4756 and HP38. I will leave it to you to research the powder amounts and be sure to work them up from safe levels.

My favorite for 38 loads these days.

I've been using the hornady for years, both the lswchp and the hbwc. I've usually bought them from Midway. Prices have been up so I've been shooting more cast WCs of late. I load them over bullseye or Unique.

Midsouth Shooters sells both the Hornady and Speer 158gr LSWC/HP bullets. I've used them both and like the Hornady a little better. (although at the moment they are both on back order but they usually restock quickly)

As for powders, it depends on how fast you want to push them. If you're looking to reproduce the FBI load in .38 Special +P there are several powders that I use. I have used W231, AA#5 and HS-6 in the past. You can even use Power Pistol but I just can't get past the excessive flash. I like HS-6 best because it achieves the highest velocity with good accuracy but without pushing the SAAMI pressure limits. It's also a low flash powder.

Daurizio: I purchase a 158gr Cast Lead Semi Wadcutter Hollow Point with Gas Check from RIMROCK BULLETS in Montana.

Just Google Rimrock Bullets and they will pop right up.

I shoot them in an L Frame 357 w a maximum of 2400 and a Mag primer and I don't get any leading. They are also accurate.
