Default Cast Bullet for the 460

What would be a good cast bullet for the 460?

I've tried some "soft" cast bullets (12 bhn) from two different suppliers. Basically, they suck in the XVR. At low (800-1000 fps) velocities they "go that way" and keyhole the target when they actually hit the target.

Missouri Bullets has some hard cast (18 bhn?) that I've been wanting to try. The next time I place an order, I'll try to get a few to try.

What gun / barrel do you have? My XVR has the gain twist barrel. It doesn't seem to stabilize a slow/soft bullet worth a ****.

Every gun is diff as to whether it will like lead bullets or not. I would think heavy wt LSWC or LFP, something in the 270gr-350gr wt. range. Try: http://www.montanabulletworks.com/wst_page6.html or http://www.beartoothbullets.com/ or http://www.castperformance.com/Categ...st+Performance I shoot a 270grLSWC out of my Ruger BH w/ great success @ only 1000fps, penetrates all day. I also have a cup point HP made on the same mold that expands just enough to get me to 60cal & still penetrates like crazy.

That's been my experience also, but I gave up on it fairly easy. If you find something that works, please let the rest of us know.
