Default Vihtavuori 3N38, what are you using it for?

With the shortage of primers, I was lucky enough to be able to pick up some from one of my usual online sources recently. Of course they had a limit on what I could buy, so to make paying the HazMat fee worth while, I looked at what else I could get on the order.

Only thing they had in stock that I thought I could use was 3N38, so I picked some up.

Need to ask, for those who use it, what are you using this for? About the only thing I could find online was for 9 Major loads.

The data I saw had HOT .357 loads but it did do better with 9mm.

Xtreme 115 gr ........... 1099 - 1299
Xtreme 124 gr ........... 1010 - 1220

It is ment for the "Major" loads in the right weapons.

Yes, sir!
Albuquerque City Range, 5950'>sea level, c. 82 degrees F, c. 50% humidity
SP-101 9x19 2 1/4" with handloaded 147-gr HST bullets in Federal cases, COAL of 1.14", Rem 1 1/2 SPP, max load of 3N38
Chrono'd five shots three times:
M 1071/S 58.03/D 23.25
M 1066/S 28.10/D 11.70
M 1052/S 11.94/D 5.19
Same range at 5950'>sea level, 72 degrees F, c. 30% humidity
Glock 43 with AlphaWolf Canada-length (107mm/4.21") barrel, this loading in S&B cases gave
M 1150 fps/ES 29.82/SD 10.24
Notable recoil (that is delivering the mail from a single-stack baby Glock!), but not excessive. Good accuracy.

Reviving this thread, think I found an experiment to do with the 3N38 Should probably start a new thread on what everyone's favorite 9mm PCC load is, honestly not sure what's going to happen on this one.
