I was in the local gunshop today and he was very short on 22lr, 45acp. 38sp and 9mm. I don't think it is over yet. I am hoping that maybe it will pick up this Winter.

The thundering heard is still panic stricken so it isn’t over till its over. The shortages are self induced by hoarding the ripple effect.

China-Mart had 9mm, 40 cal & overpriced 223/556 the last time I was there.
That's different than last month when the shelves were bare.

I was at a gun show today. You could buy .45 ACP FMJ WWB 100 rounds for $51 + tax. Saw a bit of 9mm that was in the $15 range, I guess that's a bit better. Seems like the .223 was all over fifty cents a round. Ammo does seem to be a bit more readily available but still seriously overpriced.

Clearly, things have improved a bit. Two months ago I found it impossible to buy ammo anywhere, in any caliber, at any price. Today, many sellers have at least a few boxes to offer in various calibers and most of the internet shippers are accepting backorders with delivery dates measured in weeks, not months or forever. I was at a local gunstore today and it offered reloaded ammo in .45 ACP, .40 S & W, and .38 Special. We're not out of the woods -- yet -- but I have the sense that the worst is over, that the market is beginning to stabilize, and that the situation will gradually improve with time.

Talking ??????????????????????????????????????????????

Ammo shortage?

Not around my place!

I've had bullets when and what I wanted. I cast.

I've had all the powder I want because I buy a pound when I have extra cash. I could ride out things so far.

As for primers, I cut down on the competitive shooting for the time being but I have primers I got at the beginning of last year still. I saw the shortages coming long before November!

So, no ammo shortage around here. Sorry for your problems!

If I had to depend on commercial ammo, I'd probably have to find another hobby. I cast another 5-600 .45 bullets yesterday, after loading about that many in the past week. I still have a few thousand small and large primers and plenty of powder. I'm hopeful the price of primers will start to drift down in the next few months. Bought Wolf this week @ $35. Should have been $25. I probably have at least 2500 rounds of 45/38/9mm on the shelf and components to made that much more with some left over.

Based on the pathetic ammo situation at local Walmarts and Sportsmen' Warehouse, it certainly isn't over in this area. Don

I think it is doing much better than it was, but not completely over yet.

Seems to be slowly improving. From time to time, I'm finding ammo on the shelf at WallyWorld - even in some less popular calibers like .25 & .32 acp.

Buy most of my reloading supplies from our local gun range club house. Lately its been well stocked with bullets and common powders. They're not moving too fast as primers still seem to be the bottleneck.

I have to agree, with several other posters. I visited my favorite gun shop a couple of days ago, when he had just received a new shipment of primers.
He didn't have any small pistol primers, but did have a sprinkling of other sizes.
His ammo supplies were very thin. This is typical in this part of the country. Wal-Mart has only the odd sizes that very few shoot, and are not very friendly about that.
