Default First model single shot with interesting grips

Guns America has listed a 1st model ss, Cogswell & Harrison marked, with what are indicated as possibly pewter grips of the correct S&W pattern (Guns America.com item 986276434). I've seen one other set of early grips in brass. I was wondering at that time if the grips might have been factory patterns for a pantograph duplicating machine, but now I'm thinking maybe people have duplicated real grips in metal to add weight. Any answers? FYI, the gun is offered at $1500.
