.32 DA Schematic?
Can anyone provide me with a schematic of the .32 DA? One of mine has an ejector which sticks in the open position and neither Gun Scrubber nor oiling and exercising have helped.
Thanks,
Peter

TwoCats, The problem is probably the ejector cam has old dirt & crud in it, stopping it from allowing the extractor to spring back when the gun is opened. The safety hammerless has the same mechanism and schematics of it are in the NRA exploded views books for revolvers. Have you taken out the ejector cam and the cam trip to clean it? Not difficult. Remove the barrel hinge screw and pin and the remove the barrel and ejector cam. The cam has two parts, plus a small flat blade spring. Be careful not to lose the small spring. Slide the ejector cam trip out of the recess in the cam, clean both pieces and reassemble. All should work OK, unless you have a bent extractor. Highly unlikeley, however. Good luck, Ed #15

Dug deeper into this than needed - the ejector assembly was fine (Geez - that's one small spring lurking in there!). The problem which should have been obvious to begin with is that there is no spring on the ejector rod! Probably broke and desintegrated long ago. So now the question is: How does one get the ejector star off the rod?

It's threaded on to the ejector rod. A special two pronged tool is used to remove it, but it can be done (carefully) with a pair of needle nose pliers, but why remove it? If I understand your explanation, you are going to replace the ejector spring. It goes on/off the other end of the ejector rod asssembly. The ejector post unscrews from the ejector rod. Use a pair of smooth jaw pliers to unscrew it from the ejector rod. Finding a correct new ejector spring will not be easy, but try Jerry Rodgers. [email protected] Ed #15

Thank you, Ed. That worked. I'm off to the hardware store to try to find a spring that will fit.

I found a spring at the hardware store which was just a hair too big - too bad as it was only 69 cents. Jerry Rodgers sold me the correct spring. Turns out the frame was too tight and would not allow the Extractor to return without pushing on it. I removed the barrel and tweaked the frame a tiny bit until the barrel fit into it without binding. The Extractor works perfectly now.
