My sheriff showed me two revolvers tonight. One is marked "Secret Service Model," is a top break and I believe is 32 S&W in caliber. The grips have the emblem of the sercret service in them.
The second revolver was a 32 also with a long barrel, probably 6" (I did not measure it), but it was odd in that the cylinder stop is in the backstrap and the rear sight is on it.
The Secret Service Special is NOT a Smith & Wesson. (it merely says 'For Smith & Wesson Cartridges' on the barrel.) Not worth much. $50-100 maybe depending on condition.
The second gun sounds like a Smith & Wesson Model 1896 (the first swing-out cylinder model and the first chambered for .32 S&W Long) These are great guns. You didn't say anything about condition. It could be anywhere from a couple hundered bucks upward. Most I see are priced around $400 and show a lot of wear.
