Default Model 2 Old Army s/n 48 - update

Gun posted previously. I found the letter interesting and thought some of you might too. I'd love to jump in a time machine and get em all for that price.

Pace,

What a nice condition early serial number 2 !!! How many would you buy at 11.95 today? You would mess up the history buying all those old Smiffs and taking them out of service.

Talking Model 2

At 11.95 to the distributor the retail would be more. How many days, weeks, or even months would a 1861 working man have to work to afford just one of these fine revolvers?

thanks I can use that information. What is interesting is we have 29 listed in the data base for the first hundred serial numbers. It would appear that the Lombard guns would fall into that fifty
