Hi fellas. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find a box of black powder .32 S&W to buy? I have an old Spencer Safety Hammerless antique pocket revolver I would like to put a few rounds through and am considering buying an antique S&W lemon squeezer, but I don't want to use modern smokeless loads. Surely someone somewhere loads these in black powder to sell? Thanks.
Buy a box of modern .32 S&W, pull the bullets, discard the powder, reload with black powder, reseat the bullets, and go shoot your gun, but remember that Spencer has a brass frame. If you're right handed, shoot with your left hand, and vice versa, so if the Spencer lets go, you don't have to learn how to write again with your weak hand. Ed.
Thanks Ed. This Spencer is one of the later models that actually had a steel (or iron?) frame. If I was willing to spend the money, do you think antique, collectible black powder cartridges might be a better bet, if they were even still viable? I see boxes of this old ammo from the late 1800's for sale pretty often, some still sealed.
