.32 New Departure Still in Box
A few months back I bought a .32 New Departure off of my uncle because he wanted to keep it in the family. Its nickel finished, with not a pit or discoloration to it anywhere, practically brand new (if you can call the 1890's brand new). Also, two other things that it has going for it are that it is still in the orginal green box (even though the labels are gone, the box is in great shape) and my uncle had requested a factory letter for it. Any update on the price range and any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A partial serial number (like 123xxx) would help with establishing its age, but the factory letter will do that specifically to the day it was shipped.
If it is NIB the standard reference guide says it is worth about $950, but if it were my family's gun from 100+ years ago I wouldn't worry about the price because it would never be sold . Let's see those photos (look for the Upload video and photos link on the page after you register and sign in):

I checked the papers and the born on date in 1895. Pictures do this gun no justice, but hopefully they look good. Enjoy !

Great piece. The reason the label is missing on the outside of the box is, it never had one. I have and have had several boxes exactly like the one in the picture, both with and without labels. IMHO, it never had a label. I hope this helps.
