Double Action .44 Russian Value? With Picture
A local guy has this DA .44 Russian that he wants to sell, but he hasn't figured a price yet. All I got to go on is this picture and he said the other side is same condition. Tight latch and hinge and everything works fine. I know it's vague but based on this info what price would you put on it? Thanks for your help.

I know nothing of the older guns, but a neighbor's dad has a Belgian built gun just like that that has S&W stocks on it. I would verify that it is indeed a S&W. My neighbor's dad shoots armadillos with his gun.

That's definitely Smith and Wesson. I have no doubt about it.

I saw a picture of the barrel markings and they are crisp S&W lettering.

Wish I could help, as far as value, but I don't know much about those. What I do know, is that's a fine looking piece! Good honest even wear, nice patina, no boogered screws. Go for it Wyatt!

Looks pretty much like mine I paid $600 for a year or so ago. I don't consider the stag grips much of an asset but the bore is great and cal is .44-40.

I purchased one with a six inch barrel and nickle finish which was about 75%. I took it all apart and it functions great. It has pearl grips which I do not know if it was sent from the factoty that way. I am waiting for a letter of authenticity from Roy Jinks on the gun. I paid $900.00 for it from a pawn shop on line. That was a good deal. The antique price from the S&W catalog is around $1400.00. All the serial numbers match.
