Default New 32 Departure Box Help identifying

Hi all, i have been impressed by the wealth of knowledge i see on this forum. Thought this would be the best place to find some help identifying an approximate age for this box that i found, and any other info i can get. The box has a blue green label on the side for a 3 1/2 inch new 32 departure blued. What i found interesting is on the bottom of the box in light pencil is the numbers 111411 on the blue label there is 82b in ink stamped. i was curious if the number on the bottom may coincide with what the serial number may have been for this gun. I'm kind of intrigued, i collect old boxes for ammo, guns, and blasting caps. I also have some Union Metallic cartridge company .32 S&W boxes that came from the same place as the box. Any help would be great.

The instructions describe a 2nd or 3rd Model, and #111411 would be the number of a second model from around 1902-03. I have a box for a 1st Model with no # on the bottom, and I have a DA box of about the same vintage with the # in pencil on the bottom. SCSW says that the serial # is usually marked in pencil or grease pencil on the bottom.

Peter has nailed it. The 111411 is the serial number of the gun, a 2nd model, that came in that box. Some close serial numbers were shipped in 1903. Ed.

This is a pic of the inside of the box my early 3rd model came in. It looks the same except for the added pearl grip warning in the bottom.
