Default 1891 parts

I have an opportunity to buy an 1891 38 cal barrel and cylinder. I'm comtemplating this because I have not had much luck finding an 1891 in centerfire. I do see the single shot 22 pistols. If I were to buy the 38 cal barrel cylinder would I be able to pair this readily with an 1891 single shot 22 frame? Thanks much!

If the issue is to install a barrel with cylinder on the frame that had been a single shot -- the single shot frame and mechanism does not have the parts, etc., to revolve and index the cylinder -- so NO it won't work.

On the contrary, most (not all) 1st Model SS's utilize frames with ALL of the revolver parts installed and functioning. None of the 2nd Model SS's (which utilize the same basic frame) have these parts installed----nor could they be installed.
