Default Best Reference Book

Hi Folks,
What's the best reference for antique S&W revolvers? I'm especially interested in the 1891's. Thanks.

For Pre-War S&W's it would have to be the book by Bob Neal and Roy Jinks.

That would be "Smith & Wesson 1857 - 1945", second or later edition would have the most material. Otherwise known as Neal and Jinks.

I can't disagree with the above recommendations, but a serious collector of antique S&Ws will also need the "Standard Catalog of S&W" by Supica & Nahas., 3rd edit., as there is much additonal information that complements the material in Neal & Jinks. Plus the icing on the cake, would be a complete set of the S&W Collectors Newsletters and Journals, as there you will find information not in the two books cited herein. Ed.
