I picked up one of those that had been shortened and refinished
by Dave Chicoine. It's a great firearm, but I'd like to have gotten an original with short barrel. Good catch! TACC1

Thanks, it was years of looking for one of these before I got this one.
Sometimes you just get lucky.

Muddyboot,
This one is one of the guns that is always on my radar as well. I could have gotten one for a steal at the Poulin auction but failed to bid on it
I too am surprised there were no other bidders on it.
Do you still have the auction number? I'd like to see how it was listed to analyse why there were no more hits on it. This is alway good to know for both buying and selling. If you don't want to give it out I understand.
Great gun...congratulations!!

Oh also, in case you don't have the book, the serial number dates it somewhere between 1902 and 1909 so it is a second model.

Here is the GB auction. The sellers photos were bright, so that may have affected the auction.
The revolver looks much better then the pics show. You can see the price, form watching the 2"
models sell in the past I think I did well.

Very nice acquisition! Congratulations. Your photos show it to better advantage than do those of the former owner.

Thanks, in taking photos lighting is everything. I put 50 rounds through
the revolver on Sunday. Shot point of aim at 10 feet. I doubt if I'll ever
shoot this one again though, she's a safe queen now.
