pecosriver, I did the review of the auction catalog description for the gun, for Little John, and verified the history connections of the gun to past collections & references in various publication. There is some poetic license in the auction description, in my opinion, referring to Stoundemire carrying this gun in seven prior gunfights in El Paso. Definitive proof of that is lacking, but could be correct. He often was reported to carry two guns most of the time. (One of his guns , which was known that he carried most often ,was a cut barrel snubby 1860 Colt cartridge conversion revolver. ) The S&W American, serial number 7056, was Lot 983 in the May 21 & 22, 2001 auction, and hammer price was $143,000. Lot 983A was the badge, hammer price $44,000, and Lot 984 was the warrant issued for Felix "Doc" Manning for the murder of Stoudenmire. Hammer price was $3,025. Ed.

@Gatorbaiter -

I'm a researcher for a television show called American Ride. Do you know if that picture of Stoudenmire has an active copyright? If so, do you know how I can obtain the rights to use it in an upcoming episode?

Thanks for your help. Rather than posting in reply, please email me at [email protected]

Best,
KatieWornek
