Default Just got a Z - bar, and 2 other top breaks

I thought I would share 3 of my recent top break purchases. They are all 3 antiques. The 2 32s I primarily bought because of the price, $150 each. One at a gun show, one at a shop. In their conditions, they are not often had for less than $200.

32 DA SN - 117XXX
32 New Departure SN - 157XXX

However, the real gem I got was this 38 1st model New Depature aka Z bar. I found it at the last show I was at, and could not pass it up. Its SN is 5XX and it matches everywhere. The functionality is perfect. This is a very special one for my collection until I find a better one which may never happen. The wear and spots on are not pitted. The only other issue is that one grip panel is brown and one is black. I believe the black faded to brown, but its such a scarce top break, it doesn't matter to me.

Congrats! Nice pair. The best thing about this type of S&W revolvers is that there's lots of them out there, and you can gather a nice array of the different models with out spending the family fortune, and have all the fun of searching and finding the best examples you can. Ed.

The Z-Bar is a great find - I've been looking for one for several years. Congrats

When I was collecting top-breaks I never did find one. And I don't recall seeing any for sale since. Nice pick!!
