I wound up acquiring a few Mod 1 parts guns nothing complete all need help. Any how while looking one over I see, its not marked on the barrel, its got some kinda pressed in pattern, like vise jaws. The cylinder isnt the same, the pawl is shorter than the S&W so it wont work in a real S&W. The barrel is exactly .100 short. It has no maker, the serial number if it had one is not legible.
I have an "American Standard Tool" copy of a model 1. The most obvious difference is the extra set of stop notches which allows you to lock the cylinder between chambers for safe carry fully loaded. I would not be surprised to find other copies either US or foreign made.
Good chance it's foreign copy. Best test is to try the screws in a real S&W Model 1, 3rd issue. S&W had it's own screw thread pitch and screws from a non-S&W won't fit. Ed.
