Hello and welcome,
A little more info is needed. Does it look similar to this:

That is a five shot, .32 S&W Double Action, top break revolver. The gun pivots open and automatically ejects the empty shells.
It was chambered for the short .32 S&W cartridge. I believe that most did not have the caliber stamped on the barrel, but I could be wrong on this. There was also a hammer-less version of this type action with did often have the cartridge stamp on the barrel but I think the serial number you supplied is too high.

Or is it more like this:

This is a six shot revolver chambered for .32 S&W Long. It is called a hand ejector because the cylinder is opened by a thumb-piece latch on the left side of the frame. The cartridges are the ejected by pushing back on the ejector rod by hand. Although it can fire the shorter .32 S&W, I believe all were stamped 32 S&W Long CTG on the barrel.
Both came in different barrel lengths and the latter also had several different grip configurations.

John

Here's another type of S&W chambering the .32 S&W. This is the Safety Hammerless model, often referred to as the "Lemon Squeezer."

We have a Double action 32 like you have shown with a serial number of 254402 - can you tell me when this gun was made?
Thanks
