Default 32 S&W top break

i recently aquired a 32cal. top break and know nothing about it any info would help. the serial is 60454 with patten dates as late as oct 9 1883. this is a nickel gun. thank for any help you could provide.

With that patent date, I think the model you are talking about is the 32 Safety Hammerless, First Model. They also made a hammer DA, but it had a patent date of 1882 instead of 1883.

With that patent date, it would have been made in the mid-1890s. The First Model was manufactured from 1888 to 1902, with over 91000 made. Overall, there were over 242,000 32 Hammerless Models made and sold right up to the start of WWII. As I recall, the most common finish was Nickel, with blued guns being uncommon. Unless you have a very high condition gun, or an uncommon barrel length, these revolvers do not have much value.
