MODEL 1 .22 2ND ISSUE????
This one is way out of my league. I just thought it was cool. Spoke to the seller. His father has had it for 55+ years. Don't know a thing about them. He said he fired it with .22 short with obviously no issues. I have a Uberti .45 Long Colt 5.5 S/S boxed to trade even up. He may be interested in trading straight across. Any info or issues I should look for would be greatly appreciated. I've seen some for sale on Gunbroker but did not have a rounded butt. Check out the pics. What is it worth??? Thanks to all. Happy New Year.

It's a Model No. 1 Third Issue. Your pictures are too small to evaluate the condition, which can be critical in assigning value.
As for shooting it with modern ammo, it is not recommended with anything stronger the CB or BB Caps as the gun was designed for old low pressure black powder loads.

You are looking at a S&W Model 1 Third Issue. They made over 130,000 of these between 1868 and 1882. The Model 1 - 3rd Issue was the last of the tip-up style produced by Smith & Wesson.
It is hard to tell the condition by the small photos, but it has a replaced extractor rod under the barrel. I would say you might want to keep your Uberti, since I think it is worth more than that revolver.
Never fire 22 shorts in these old tip-up revolvers. They are way too powerful. CB Caps or CB Shorts are OK and they are fun to shoot once and awhile, but most are not very accurate.

Sorry. That's the best pics I could get. Seller states it's in good condition. Based on what I can provide as far as the pics....... any idea of value on the low side. Thanks.

Good condition can cover a wide range. I can't tell if it is a reblue, what condition the bore is in, how tight the hinge is, what shape the forcing cone is in, etc., etc.......
So, assuming it is nothing outstanding, but also not a piece of junk, I would put the low side value at around $150.00.
I don't think I would trade a Uberti for it unless it was pretty nice and original.
