Default Premier S&W 32 CTGE

I just found a Premier S&W 32 CTGE at my grandparents house. One the butt of the gun the first three numbers is 170xxx. Does anyone know what year it is? On the top of the barrel it says, "Harrington & Richardson Arms company, Worcester. Mass. USA, Pat Oct. 8, 1895.

I'm not that familiar with Harrington & Richardson revolvers, but I would guess that gun was probably made between 1900 and 1910. The only Smith & Wesson connection is that the gun was designed to chamber the .32 S&W cartridge.

Welcome to the SMITH & WESSON Forum. You H&R was manufactured in 1909 by looking at my sources. This makes it a "modern" gun by the ATF, as it was manufactured after 1898. Not an expert on these revolvers, but I had a little .32 H&R at one time, but it had little value. That is probably not an issue for you, since it is a family heirloom. Looks to be in good condition and ammunition is still available for this revolver. Look for .32 S&W ammo. Should be fun to shoot.

i just joined this site however i am a bit ...excuse me very non technical when it come to posting and interacting with fellow gun owners. i have a 32 S & W CTGE , H & R Automatic with a serial number 493631. This hand gun was my fathers when he was a cop from 1957 to 1963. He died years ago and i came across the pistol in its holster in very good condition. i noticed the grips on the gun have a piece broken off the handle grips. Can i still buy the original hand grips for this gun.? i wish to repair the gun back to its original condition. it is all blue with black grips. 6 shot. if anyone can help guide me to where i can buy these grips email me at [email protected]. thanks

You might want to look around for an H&R site, your pistol is not a Smith & Wesson.
