Smith & Wesson "Lemon Squeezer" .32 S&W Top-Break Revolver
I have a Smith & Wesson "Lemon Squeezer" .32 S&W Top-Break Revolver .
The serial # is 3858.
Can anyone tell me the manufacture date on this?
Also approximate value.
I am a new collector.
Thank you
Anthony
I received a 36 S&W Lemon Squeezer from my father in law, your numbers make yours a 1st model that falls between 1888-1902. Mine was nickle plated and in very good condition w/pearl grips. A letter from Smith and Wesson is about the only way you will be able to truly authenticate the date, Roy Jenks is the man that does that.
Welcome to the Forum Kinman. The SWCA database puts shipment date from around 1888 to 1890, so you have an antique as classified by the ATF.
32 Safety Hammerless revolvers are difficult to age, since they were not shipped in order. Only way to obtain an exact date of shipment is to get a factory letter.
