Default Lemon Squeezer

A neighbor of a friend of mine, gave him a gun after her husband passed away (she didn't want it in the house). He is trying to find some info on it (how old it is/ value). He's not a "gun person", so he emailed me to see if I had any idea about it. I told him I'd try to find out about it. He took it to a local gun show and got different answers including "the holster is worth more than the gun". I thought I'd try here. He can't find a model number on the gun, but the serial number is - 224638. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Don't quote me on this; but I believe the "lemon Squeezer" was last produced about 1974 and was the model 42. I can't read the model number in that picture, but the year range for that particular gun starts back in the late 1800's. It may be worth something if it's old enough. The model number will be what tells you that.

Thank you. I'm going to email him and see if I can get a model number and serial number.

There will be no model number. It is a .32 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model made from 1909 to 1937. The serial number won't tell you much more as these were not shipped in numerical order. A $50 letter will tell you when it shipped from the factory and to whom (probably a distributor)

Probably close to the truth.
A 32 Safety of that model, in that condition, is not worth a lot- maybe 200 on a good day?
The holster is very cool and desirable.
