Default Picked up a single shot today...

While I was out today, I picked up a single shot in .22.

I'm out and away from home, and unfortunately didn't not bring my reference material with me...

I believe I have a 1st model, with a three digit serial number- guess I'll have to wait to get home this week to see. Hopefully some pictures too...

This is my first single shot S&W, so I'm going to have to go through the quick study crash course- I've seen them before, but never paid much attention since they were under glass at most shows with prices on them so exorbitant that they never garnered a second look from me, much less even picking one up. I've appreciated them, but never thought I'd own one.

Good for you! Second model was 1-4617. First model has
a recoil shield and should have Model of 91 in the middle of the barrel address and patent markings. Second model made w/o recoil shield.
That's right out of SCSW 3rd. Looks like if it has a recoil shield, it's a 1st Model. Hope this helps, TACC1.

And the third model can be easily determined as it is double action as well as single action and has a side plate on the right side.
