Default In the standard catalog, what's the thing pictured w/ the cased single shots?

Hey there,
Recently picked up a third model single shot with 10 inch barrel. I was looking through the standard catalog to make sure I had the right identity of the gun and saw some pcis in there of a pair of cased single shots. In the case, between the guns, is a tool os some sort. Is this a collpasible screw driver or something? Just wanting to know.

Thank you.

Top of page 113 ?

Looks like a screwdriver handle with a removable ferrule, probably stores bits in the handle.

Default Early Hollow-Handled Screwdriver

Daniel,

It's an Early S&W Hollow-Handled Screwdriver with 4 Interchangeable Bits that were stored inside the Handle!! They are "Very" Rare & almost impossible to find today!! If you look in the Expert Commentary Section, under "Guest Commentary", you'll find a Thread posted by Doug Whitson (firearmsunlimited) that gives a complete rundown of all the S&W Screwdrivers that were available over the years!! It includes 2 of the Earliest Styles of this Screwdriver & there is also another with a Knurled Locking-Piece that tightens the Bits into the Handle he doesn't have a photo of, but it's very similar to the others!! I believe that's the one shown in the Standard Catalog if I'm not mistaken!! He did a fine job on the article & it's well explained!! Take a look!!
