One thought that I must bear,
One cross that I must shoulder,
....it's plain to see
That unlike me,
My friends have gotten older!

I believe it is the distributor stamp, if that's what the business was called back then. "Cin. O." is Cincinnati, OH.

Ben Kittredge was a S&W distributor and stamped many of the S&Ws he received from the factory. He sold a quantity of S&W Model 2 Armies to the Kentucky Cavalry (UNION) in the Civil War. There are three styles of Kittredge stamps used on S&Ws and collectors seek them out. Mike has acquired a nice pair of Model 1 1/2s with the last style of Kittredge stampings. Ed.
