Default S+W 38 Special Cartridge

I have a gun and I have absolutely no idea how old it is. It's a special cartridge. Its serial number, found on the bottom of the handle is 107321. There are no numbers on this serial number. It's in great condition, I was just wondering if anyone knows about how old it is, and if possible, an estimate on the value.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum. Does it hold five or six rounds, can you read the serial number with the grip frame up and barrel pointing left or right, and did you mean there are no "letters" in the serial number? The barrel length from cylinder face to muzzle would help also.

It's not a "special cartridge", that's just part of the caliber stamping on the barrel (.38 Special Cartridge) & there were probably millions of revolvers S&W stamped it on. Not a model.

You'll need to provide more info, and a picture would be helpful in determining condition, which would be helpful in determining value.
Serial alone doesn't always do it, since some were re-used.
