.32 cal Lemon Squeezer
Hello all,
I am new to the S&W forums and trying to put a date with some of my collection. What I have here is a .32 cal Lemon Squeezer in what I consider well above average condition and tight as new. The little holster came with it and I have no reason not the believe that it came with the revolver. As with most all of my .32's this little rascal is deadly accurate and will have to be purchased from my widow to leave the collection. Any help as to it's birth date (ser#158,0XX) would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in advance and God bless...cordell

Nice old Lemon Squeezer, Cordell. I make it as a .32 Safety Hammerless 2nd Model made from 1902-09. Around 78,500 were made during that time with yours coming later in the period...c. 1907. Grips are in very good condition. Congratulations!

Cordell,
What ^ KennyB said.
My avatar is that Great Alabama Halfback, "The Dothan Antelope," who help Alabama win the 1926 National Championship and is also the famous movie cowboy Johnny Mack Brown. (Dothan is a suburb of the greater metropolis of Ashford )

Kennyb,
My Daughter and her family also live just south of Richmond in Chesterfield. As a matter of fact we were just up there this past weekend, good grief that place is growing by leaps and bounds! The ETA on the book is 10-1 so I should have it tomorrow. Do you specialize in any area of S&W collecting or just S&W's in general?.......Take care and God bless.....cordell

Sorry to bust in...
Sorry to bust in on this post, but I recently acquired two .32 cal lemon squeezers for $70 each at an auction. There is a first and a second generation. Both nickel plated. I think given their condition I made a great deal. They are both absolutely tight. Does anyone know the manfucturing dates of these?
I am presuming there is no smokeless ammo, or ammo I can buy that I can shoot in these? Many thanks all!
First model serial #849X:
Second model serial #12429X:

Welcome to the Forum Jmace57. You did get those at a very good price, considering they both look original and with high finish.
Your first model was manufactured from 1888 to 1902, with over 91,000 manufactured. S&W dates revolvers from their ship date and yours would have shipped right around the ATF changeover to modern classification (1898).
Your second model was manufactured from 1902 to 1909, with about 80,000 made and the ship date on yours would be around 1904 to 1906.
Nice purchases for these little hammerless revolvers. 32 S&W ammunition is still manufactured by most ammo companies and will work fine in either of your guns. These modern loadings are meant to function in old top-breaks and are very light loads.

You got a screaming deal on those! As Glowe said, ammo is available, .32 S&W, but be careful to not buy 32 S&W Long, that won't fit your guns. The 32 S&W is often more difficult to locate, but can be ordered and is mfg. by several major manufacturers.

Thanks gents for your comments. I was hoping I had made a good deal on these. And I'm glad to know I can shoot them with the appropriate ammo (and that it is still available). I have been getting more and more into S&W revolvers recently. I have 2 model 28s and a model 19 I have had since I purchased them in the late 70s...tehn recently have bought these and a 3rd model hand ejector in .32 long. I feel an addiction coming on.
