.44 Russian DA - Show & Tell
This one may be first year of production s/n 35xx in .44 Russian with the short cylinder. It is externally about 90%, which is to say 99% of its nickel still there but frosting and handling marks in a few places and about 1/4" square flaked off the butt. Color case good on hammer. Bore 5" is mostly bright with strong rifling but some roughness. Perfect mechanically & grips.

Nice 44 DA, I have one in similar condition:
I don't know if you plan on shooting it, but you can make some more comfortable grips by modding a pair of K-Frame Round Butt Magnas:

100% re-nickeled, including trigger & guard & hammer, with Pearl stocks. I bought it anyway - just doesn't get much better!

This blue 4" 1st Model shipped to M.W. Robinson on June 5, 1884, as part of a ten unit shipment at $14.00 each. The grips are original and number to the gun. How it made it from New York to Oregon in this condition is probably an interesting story...

Howdy
Mine shipped in October of 1881. It has been reblued, notice the blue trigger and hammer, but I don't care. I only shoot it with Black Powder.

This .44 russian was in close to new shape when it left with my ex wife along with others many years ago. It was flawless and looked about unfired.
