Top Break .32
Just picked this up. Mechanically great. Barrel and cylinder bores very very good. 3-1/2 inch barrel. S/N 1305xx
What can you tell me about it.

Looks like a .32 Safety Hammerless, 2nd model. that has been improperly stored and lost about 1/2 it's finish, but may make a good shooter. Probably shipped around 1905. Ed.

Thanks for the info. Since I paid less than $200 would you say I did OK for a shooter?

That'll shoot .32 S&W, not .32 S&W Longs. You can check around the net for it as most gun shops do not stock it.

Could you post a picture? The Model of 1896 is actually a solid frame hand ejector and not a top-break, so need to see the gun to give an accurate ID. Vintage Gun Grips had replacement grips for most S&Ws, but need a positive ID so you can get the correct size.
