Is that the 2" bicycle gun? The front sight blade doesn't look right. I didn't think they were round.

Yes it is correct, and they are round.

When did they change the front sight blade to all round? I have a 1st model that has the front sight blade that is more flat at the beginning. According to the SCSW it has the correct blade.

If you are referring to a 32 Safety, all models had the same front sight and that was round. The 3rd Model has a forged front sight, but still round. Models 1 and 2 had pinned front sights. Any other sight would have been replaced of filed to a different shape.

If you have the SCSW 3rd look at page 79. Refer to the pictures of the 3 safety hammerless models. Look at the 2nd model bicycle gun. That is what my sight looks like. It is not really round on the top.

Tom - I cannot find any references to factory altered front sights for 32 Safety revolvers, but pinned style target front target sights were available for purchase from S&W that would fit. I see the one you are referring to in SWSC3, but think it has simply been filed down for accuracy. The guess would be that these guns shot low and the only adjustment available was to file the front sight. I have seen some that still retain the round shape, but are shorter than standard, so these probably were filed on the bottom and re-drilled to pin back on the barrel.
