Default Schofield

I have an old Schofield and I was wondering if there were any collectors in Oklahoma or elsewhere close by that would like to look at it and tell me what they think. I don't know the family history regarding the pistol, so it doesn't hold much sentimental value to me. The firearms guy at the Oklahoma Cowboy Museum in OKC looked at it and in essence, authenticated it. Anyone out there willing to share their knowledge with me either in person or on here? Thanks!

Why don't you post some good detailed pictures taken from all angles. You will then get more information than you can handle.

Welcome to the Forum. DWalt is correct - Post some pictures and a good description of ALL MARKINGS, numbers and proof marks, and their location on the gun, and you will be told all there is to know about your Schofield. There were about 8,000 Schofields manufactured in two different models and approx. three doz. were civilian models. The rest were all military. There are no factory shipping records for the military guns, so Roy JInks, Factory Historian uses the invoice date when the Gov't was billed for the guns as the delivery date to the Springfield Armory.
